The goal of this blog is to present and explore ideas and
innovations leading to new systems for transportation, and the community
systems we can then create.
I believe we can build a new transportation system that is
much faster, much cheaper, and best of all, available to everyone.
The technologies are rapidly becoming available, but we need
to organize them in new ways. Recent events have finally created the powerful economic
and social forces needed to drive the replacement of our obsolete
infrastructure.
My research over the past six years has created enough ideas
and approaches to get us started on the path to new systems. Hopefully, this
will trigger an avalanche of innovations, just what we are so good at
generating and capitalizing on.
As the train, and later the automobile, transformed societies,
a new transportation system will create a host of opportunities to improve our
lives. These in turn will allow us to rebuild our communities that have been
fractured by recent events.
This blog will describe results of my research, information
on emerging technologies, specific opportunities for implementation, and my
personal reflections on the past and the future.
Please join me in this adventure, whether you are just
enjoying the ride, or helping drive us to a better future.
